Why is gay pride so sexual

If being gay isn’t about sex, why do we so frequently associate sexual images with Pride events?

Actually, this is something I wrote about way back inin two back-to-back blog posts. Overall, their whole thing against pride is that "it promotes immoral sex acts in public in front of children, and that they should keep it in their closets" among other things. I couldn't even get a word in to explain that pride is not about gay sex.

One of the things that LGBTQ people quickly learn when they come out is that the “sex and respectability at Pride” discourse is like the villain in a horror movie who is never, ever truly.

Apparently, many onlookers believe that the LGBTQ community and gay men in particular have run amok with orgies in the streets and on big glittery parade floats. Think of the children, critics. So when straight people ask why there is a need for gay pride or why is gay pride so sexual why there aren’t straight pride celebrations, it feels a lot like they are saying contributions by LGBTQ people —.

Guess it's just part of our society that feels the need to one-up the already highly sexualized everyday life things by adding dildocorns to parades or naked plastic bums to carnival floats. A lesbian activist I know once made a huge pink ass from fabric, decorated it with colourful feathers right-wing homphobes think of gays as so perverse that they supposedly stick feathers into their rectums and walk with naked butts and feathers and tied it on top of her clothes, so that homophobes could finally get what they yearn to see - a naked ass on a pride parade.

It was also known as the Christopher Street Liberation Day march after the street where the procession originated and turned into one week-long celebration of freedom for the LGBT community.
